Is this a healthy Diet? ...?

Vick

I have been trying to lose weight pretty fast. I want to drop at least 20 or 25 pounds in the next five months. So far, I have lost about 7 pounds with the following diet, and I would like to know if it is healthy and how I can prevent from gaining back quickly:
Breakfast- medium sized bowl of all bran fiber cerial with non fat or skim milk.
Lunch- a plate of veggies, OR a couple of eggs
Dinner- small portions of whatever my mom is serving, but no bread. (I am sixteen, by the way)
Snacks- Plain non fat yogurt and plenty of almonds

I have only been doing this for a little over a week, and the results have been good so far. I feel great, and I exercise at least three or for times a week, but very very lightly (weight lifting, VERY short distant jogs, etc. I can't do too much because of asthma).
I drink quite a lot of water as well. (no soda, or pretty much anything else)
Is this diet OK? Do you think I will gain it back quickly?
I'm also a girl, so I don't think I have to worry about man boobs, but thanks for the concern! :D

Answer
Your diet doesn't have enough variety and honestly it sounds boring. Healthy doesn't mean tasteless. Do you seriously eat this everyday? Can you stick to this diet for life? I see you have drastically reduced your carbs you need carbs for energy. Fiber aid digestion and will keep you fuller longer. You will gain back if you don't stick to healthy eating for life. Make a diet and exercise plan you can honestly live with forever. Aim to eat 100 different foods a week, you need to be sure to get all your vitamins and nutrients. Healthy fats (avocado, olives and olive oil, plain nuts and seeds, flaxseed oil) don't cut out all fat boys actually do need some fat cut out too much and you will actually end up with man boobs it causes excess estrogen production just as if you eat too much fat, so moderation is key.

Divide your plate
1/2 fruit and veggies (make sure to eat a variety and try new ones when you have the chance)
1/4 of a lean protein or protein substitute if you are vegetarian. Don't just eat eggs all the time
1/4 fiber rich carbs (red or brown rice, bulgar, oatmeal or oatbran, quinoa etc.)

Your breakfast is good but try a little variety some other options
Oatmeal with honey and fresh fruit
Homemade fruit and veggie smoothies
1 egg, 1/2 cup bulgar or some wholegrain toast, baked beans, fresh fruit, you can have 2 slices of turkey bacon if you aren't vegetarian
1 natural peanut butter or almond butter sandwich, milk, 1 banana.
2-3 oz of fish (if vegetarian skip and add tofu to the miso), miso soup (excellent for weight loss), 1/2 cup brown or red rice, raw veggies or small side salad, green tea, fresh fruit
2 open-faced sandwiches on wasa crackers or a healthy bread, thin slices of cheese, loaded with veg, fresh fruit
Japanese omelet (I add grated daikon to mine and I use only 1 tsp of oil get a good nonstick pan so you need less oil) alternatively a plain egg prepared to your tastes, stir-fried sesame bok-choy, fresh fruit, 1/2 cup rice or bulgar, green tea
Muesli and kefir (it's like plain yoghurt

Lunch
Try to add a grain if you will skip carbs do it at dinner not earlier in the day
Add some protein (tofu, meat substitutes there are loads of them, or if not vegetarian fish, chicken, turkey, shrimp)
You might think of making some homemade wraps, a sub on healthy bread
or trying hummus with raw vegetables
One of my favorite salads
grilled chicken (or like the Quorn chicken breast meat substitute), shredded cabbage, avocado, julienned yellow bell pepper, cottage cheese, caramelized cashews, diced red onion, apples) sounds kind of crazy but it's delicious

You should be getting at least 1800 calories b/c you are a growing boy so please don't reduce more than that. I am happy to hear no soda =) Treats are okay in moderation be realistic or when the holidays come around you will gorge. It takes about 3 bites to satisfy a sweet craving. So portion out snacks. I like baked chips for fries I bake them or make sweet potato fries. If you like cakes sub oil with applesauce and have a small slice, 1/2 cup ice cream or frozen yoghurt topped with fresh fruit. There should be some healthy dessert recipes on the site too. So you don't need to forever forego treats of course if you honestly don't care for junk food don't eat it but if you love it learn moderation.

Remember you will likely go out to eat again so look up your favorite restaurants (even fastfood joints b/c they are hard to avoid for life) and look up nutritional info so you can plan healthy meals ahead of time. Ask for a smaller plate, order side dishes or appetizers instead of main entrees, split the meal if a main entree, and you can in a restaurant at least specify more how you want food prepared. Be realistic and flexible.

Yoghurt and nuts are good snacks also try some plain seeds (sunflower and pumpkin seeds contain zinc which is crucial for boys), hummus with veg is a good snack too

Is Lipton Green Tea (mint) healthy? Does it burn calories?

Ever

Just wondering if this brand of green tea is healthy, if it burns calories and if not, how many calories are in it.
Thanks!
I don't add sugar, just boiling water.
And I'm only drinking it to try and burn calories... and to stop drinking tea with milk & sugar.
:D

Answer
Tea (like coffee or water) has ZERO calories.

Lipton is a good brand (as far as I care to know).

Tea can be a very powerful diuretic...the water loss due to dehydration is often misconstrued as âbody fatâ loss, because itâs still weight loss on a scale.
When you want to lose weight, your goal should not be to end up lighter with chapped lips, dry, itchy skin and constipation.
Body fat loss is 3,500 calories of exercising for each pound of fat reserves that you wish to lose, providing that you eat enough to cover your BMR and your growth, so your body does not adapt to lower caloric intake and lower your metabolism.

I eat diuretics with salty food as to not have to fight dehydration by having to drink too much water and also be bothered by having to pee a lot. Youâre not peeing more because you drink more but because of the effect of the diuretics and drinking more water just helps you not dehydrate.

This is why some recipes have ingredients that complete one another. Cabbage is a diuretic so you have to eat it with something very salty in order to not dehydrate, like the âcorned beef and cabbageâ recipe Iâll cook for St. Patrickâs Day or sauerkraut/sausage combination, cauliflower/ham casserole, adding ham/bacon to your lettuce, tomato, onion sandwich, crunchy celery in your tuna salad, salty vinaigrette with artichokes or asparagus. If you eat a fresh tomato like an apple, biting into it (a tasty organic one), it will taste much better with some salt, same with radishes, as your body knows that those are powerful diuretics.
If you eat/drink sodium separately from your diuretics (as you donât add salt to your tea!), try to do it before and not after.
I cannot drink tea without having something containing sodium beforehand (anything salty or things like V8, cheese, canned veggies like carrots, peas or green beans, tomato juice...).

You can add sugar to your tea or coffee, as long itâs not the zero calorie fake sugar (donât get me started on that...). A sugar cube is like 9 calories...sugar = energy, so you exercise instead of lacking motivation. Gosh! Now Iâm going to have to exercise one more minute to compensate for the sugar cube I ate!!

Your other question mentions that youâre a teenage girl...you need milk or at least some form of calcium (dairies, collard greens, turnip greens, sardines with bones, broccoli, beans...). I heard stories about teenage girls having 80 years old skeletons and getting osteoporosis (you fall, you break some porous weak bone) because they donât eat enough calcium. Eating tons of calcium while forming your skeleton while growing (up till you reach your 20s) is crucial for strong bone density.

Milk would make your skeleton strong (or at least not fragile) and sugar would give you energy to be active. You do not eat/drink food to burn calories. You eat/drink food (the kind with calories in it) to get enough energy to be active, exercise, gain muscle mass and become a mean fat burning machine with a high metabolism.

cafe styled recipes?

Q. what is a good food to make that is cafe based?? I need to know for a home ec project...im making milkshakes too but i need to make something that will go with them

Answer
I believe that "Cafe's" originated to appeal to the local masses with light, quick and healthy foods, which would entail freshly made deli sandwiches, lighter soups, vegetable sandwiches, fresh fruit dishes, juices, herbal teas..........items along those lines of menu items. I personally think that Cafe Milkshakes goes perfectly with a grilled Hamburger or Chicken Breast Sandwich, steak fries and some chilled pickle spears........also, along the lines of the "Hot Cafe" Style menu. Simple, yet delicious.............Hope this helps you out today!

What are some good healthy meals for a 13 year old?

Celeste G

Be specific!
Breakfast, lunch,snacks, dinner, treats, drinks?
Be specific!
Recipes and links too please!?
Vegetarian here!

Answer
Watch for excessively processed(lunch meats, mayonaise, margarine, some salad dressings) salt added, high fat foods.Restrict carbonated soft drinks, sodas, candy, cookies, and fast food.Learn to read product labels. Follow portion control, low sugar, low fat-lots of fruit and vegetables, lean cuts of fish and meat. Artifical sweetners should be avoided.

Breakfast: fruit, low fat yogurt, whole grain cereal with 1 or 2 % low fat milk, 100% juice(no sugar added), oatmeal with fruit and no more than 2 teaspoons of raw sugar, occassionally a poached or soft boiled egg with whole grain bread with 1 tbspn real butter, or with peanut butter and honey

Lunch/ dinner: fresh fruit, steamed vegetables, 4 oz broiled boneless skinless chicken breast, fish filets, tuna, lean beef or turkey breast. Pasta with tomato based sauces. Homemade soups.

Snacks and treats: fresh fruit and vegetables, all natural fruit snacks and fruit roll ups, string cheese, low fat,and salt crackers, peanut butter, whole fruit spreads, sandwiches of whole grain bread, vanilla wafers, molasses, or ginger bread cookies(any low fat, low sugar varieties).

Drinks:water, 100% fruit juices, 1 or 2% low fat milk, herbal teas(hot or iced) lightly sweetened.

This doesn't mean an occassional piece of candy, chocolate chip cookie, pizza or hamburger can't be had, these just shouldn't be first and constant fare.

As for recipes follow the above guidelines. Suggestions: Grill meats and steam vegetables then season with herbs and spices. Use as natural ingredients as you can get: raw sugar, nothing with high fructose sugar or syrup, sea salt(has trace minerals and natural iodine), watch for added salt, too.

Hope this helps. Good luck and God Bless.

I'm on a calorie-restrictive diet and need some advice for a healthy, tasteful meal option in the range of 250 calories. I'd like to implement some lean protein if possible, and definitely veggies, but nothing too exotic (I want to keep it to what I've already got in the fridge or pantry). Any suggestions?

What is a good diet for someone trying to stay healthy?

Q. I want to go on a diet to be healthy, but I don't want it to have to be too hard. I work out a lot, and am very fit, but I feel that I am not making the healthiest choices when it comes to eating. What should I do when it comes to disciplining my food choices?

Answer
Thats great that your active and want to eat healthy :)
Go for natural, organic foods. Eat smaller portions more often rather than big portions less often. Avoid things like soda, diet soda or any diet drinks, artificial colors or sweeteners, too much sugar, overly processed foods. Remember to drink plenty of water. Green tea is great to =) As well as water with lemon which is cleansing, good for your skin, digestive system.

You can also try out healthier alternatives with food.
Examples:

- Replace fast food french fries with homemade sweet potato or regular fries (made with a touch of olive oil, salt)

- For chips, you could try natural sweet potato chips, pita chips, fat free popcorn, pop chips or a natural potato chip brand like Kettle. You can also make your own chips by thinly slicing potatoes or sweet potatoes, glazing with olive oil, sprinkling with salt (pepper, basil if you'd like - cinnamon goes well with sweet potatoes) & baking them.

- Replace candy with things like frozen grapes or banana slices, dried mango strips, dried blueberries/cranberries/cherries/papaya, raisins, etc.

- Try a veggie burger on a whole wheat bun, topped with some things you like.

- If you want soda, try cold sparkling water with lemon or mixed with 100 % organic fruit juice instead

- Replace white pasta with whole grain in pasta dishes + add veggies (for example adding baby spinach to pasta, grilled vegetables to lasagna, broccoli/grated carrot/spinach/kale to pasta salad, etc.

- For a creamy pasta sauce try tomato sauce with goat cheese mixed in, for a healthier dish

- Enjoy pizza, try it on thin multigrain crust topped with fresh veggies.

- For healthier treat options try things like: frozen yogurt, vanilla greek yogurt with berries & grated dark chocolate, whole grain baked goods, etc. Desserts are fine in moderation :)

Here is a list with some healthy food ideas :)

~ Greek yogurt or yogurt (nonfat) - Greek yogurt has more protein than regular yogurt
~ Eggs, cheese, cottage cheese (2% is fine), goat cheese, skim milk or goat milk, etc.
~ Vegetables
~ Fruit & Berries
~ Beans (chickpeas, black beans, kidney beans, mixed beans, etc.) - full of fiber and protein :)
~ Veggie burgers (Amy's makes great veggie burgers)
~ Whole grain breads: multigrain bread, ezekiel bread, rye bread, whole wheat pitas, whole grain tortillas or bagels, etc.
~ Whole grain pasta or brown rice pasta, brown/wild rice, quinoa, buckwheat, etc.
~ Sweet potatoes or potatoes
~ Hummus
~ Oatmeal - great source of fiber, you can add toppings like: almond butter or peanut butter, nuts, fresh berries/fruit, raisins, dried fruit like cherries/cranberries/blueberries, cinnamon, skim milk or non-dairy milk, nonfat greek yogurt, jam, honey, agave nectar, maple syrup, etc.
~ Healthy cereals (Kashi, Nature's Path Organic, etc..high in fiber like raisin bran)
~ Nuts, seeds, almond butter, peanut butter
~ Non-dairy milks like soy, almond or rice milk
~ Ground flax seed to add into a smoothie, top yogurt, etc.
~ Olive oil, good healthy fat, great for stir frys with lots of veggies.
~ Salmon & Tuna
~ Tofu & Tempeh - are great in sandwiches, wraps, on salads, etc.
~ Whole grain crackers
~ Whole grain waffles or pancakes
~ Dark chocolate

How can I find recipes from the 1920's?

Sylvia G

I am hosting a murder party and would like some food from the 1920's Chicago. I found some soda fountian recipes, but would like some dinner like recipes. Help!

Answer
Am having trouble finding much, but here aere some links for you to check out:

What did average Americans eat in the 1920s? Food historians tell us we had a sweet tooth, a taste for the exotic, and a well-developed sense of ordered creativity. Translation? Fruit cocktails, Pineapple upside-down cake and Jell-O molds. Tea sandwiches, fancy salads, and chafing-dish recipes were also "in." City kitchens were wired with electricity meaning foods could be safely refrigerated at home. General Electric (and other companies) published cooking brochures touting frozen foods and safe meat storage.

Conversely? Modern vegetarianism also began the 1920s. Peanuts were promoted as healthy protein alternatives to animal meat. Raw foods were likewise promoted. Ladies Aid Societies and Domestic Scientists worked hard to introduce balanced, nutritional meals to poor, laboring people and help newly arrived immigrants adjust to American markets.

1 beaten egg
2 tablespoons milk

1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 teas. fresh finely minced parsely

cook by baking on greased baking sheet in pre-heated oven for 10-15 mintes or until egg is throughly cooked.

Look forward to hearing news ideas. Thanks.

Answer
Mini pizzas are always fun, made with whole wheat or whole grain english muffins, pizza sauce, reduced-fat cheese, and topped with lots of yummy veggies!

Or, cut up veggies or fruits in fun shapes like stars or hearts, or use cookie cutters for sandwichs for a fun snack.

All finger food is good like gerber flavored puffs, any kind of cereal like cheerios or kix. I would go for cheerios, they now come in whole grain (:

Hope that helps!

What are good heathy supper ideas to cook?
Q. I'm going on a diet and I need recipes

A. Eat correctly and you will lose weight. Do not starve yourself.

Breakfast:
oatmeal & toast;
cream of wheat & toast;
dry cereal with milk;
boiled egg or two;
scrambled eggs;
fried eggs;
Fried egg sandwich;
Any type of meat with your eggs (even steak);
etc.
sandwiches are fine too.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You will not gain weight by eating breakfast.

Teenagers need 4 each 8oz glasses of milk per day. Adults need one.

Always eat breakfast, it is the most important meal of the day.

Be sure to take a multivitamin-multimineral tablet per day. Ask a Pharmacist which one is best for you.

Lunch: Meat, or chicken, or turkey sandwich with lettuce and tomato on it. Onion too if you like them...onions are a vegetable.
Tuna sandwiches or salmon sandwiches are healthy and good too.
Soups and stews make good healthy lunches.
Cold salads.
Buy wide mouth thermos for hot and cold foods to take to work or school.

Dinner: one meat/fish/chicken/or turkey; one vegetable; one starch such as rice/beans/or potatoes.

Snack on fruits and raw veggies.

Drink: water; or tea; or milk.

Sodas will kill you in the end. Rots teeth; weakens bones; makes skin on your face and body ugly as you age. Drink milk for beautiful skin.

If you are cooking for one person, buy the top brand frozen dinners. We have been eating them for years. I add tossed salad or sliced tomatoes for a side dish. Canned or frozen veggies too.

To be healthy, eat correct balanced meals.

Anyone have any work out and dieting tips?
Q. Ok well I was 187 and overweight for my height. Im still overweight and have a goal of 155 and Im at 179. Any good dieting tips or recipes? Also I need some good exercise tips too because because I am struggling to get rid of my love handles and stomach. I work out 4 times a week mostly and I dont eat a lot of junk but its not working. I want to get a little bigger, but Im mainly looking to get cut and toned. Thanks in advance!

A. If you want to do this it is for life so you need to totally change your way of eating and exercising. This is not a diet rather than a healthy eating plan for life. So no more talking diet cause it means time limit.

Here are the golden rules:
Initially cut down to 1200 (women) - 1500 (men) calories.
Exercise 6 times per week for 1 hours a day. Do three weight sessions and three cardio sessions. No gym involved if you don't have the access.
Don't eat carbs after 4pm, never eat carbs within 2 hours of exercise or within 1 hour of exercise.
Drink 3 litres of water per day. You can have a green tea at the end of the day.
Limit your fruit in take to 2 pieces per day.
Never eat dinner after 6pm.
Adopt of low GI eating plan this is sustainable for life!
Make low fat dairy choices

Follow this menu plan as a suggestion:
Breakfast 7am - 1 cup hot water w lemon
20 minutes later have a bowel of oats w water (no honey) OR
fruit salad w low GI soy yogurt
Snack 10am - pear or apple (both low GI)
Lunch 12.30pm - muligrain sandwich w 50g tuna & salad (no butter)
Snack 3pm - low GI yogurt OR skim berry smoothie (no honey or banana) plenty of ice, 1/2 cup skim milk & 1/4 cup yogurt
Dinner 5.30pm - 120g grilled lean meat/fish/prawns/tofu patties (not fried) w spinach salad & mixed vegies (no whites, carbs) OR 3 egg white/soy omlette with ham, cheese and tomato
Snack - 1 scoop of low cal low fat ice cream (if hungry)

Exercise is must be intense. Refer to www.bodybuilding.com for your weights routine. Never do weights two consecutive days have a cardio day in between.

Cardio needs to include running, go hard up stair wells and cycling. If you have access to a gym include boxing and spin classes as well. You get the most benefits from exercise when your body is totally fatigued and this is when you see changes.

To maintain you can increase calories to 1500 (women) - 1800 (men) and reduce exercise sessions to 3-4 times per week. If weight creeps up again due to holiday period etc.. go back to 1200 (women) - 1500 (men) cal and 6 sessions again.

Good luck it worked for me it can work for anyone.

~ Whole grain breads: multigrain bread, ezekiel bread, rye bread, whole wheat pitas, whole grain tortillas or bagels, etc.
~ Whole grain pasta or brown rice pasta, brown/wild rice, quinoa, buckwheat, etc.
~ Sweet potatoes or potatoes

~ Healthy cereals (Kashi, Nature's Path Organic, etc..high in fiber like raisin bran)

How can I find recipes from the 1920's?
Q. I am hosting a murder party and would like some food from the 1920's Chicago. I found some soda fountian recipes, but would like some dinner like recipes. Help!

What is an extremely healthy but inexpensive 7 day meal plan that I can go by?

Q. I want to start eating healthier. I don't really have any self motivation so maybe a meal plan will help me get in gear. I don't like drinking anything but water anyway so I'm good on that part. Any suggestions? (:

A. I will give 7 options for each meal sorry I am a vegetarian mostly so lol

Breakfast 1
Oatmeal with fruit (you can add a bit of honey to sweeten)
Breakfast 2
1 egg (prepared as you like), baked beans, 1-2 slices of whole-grain toast, fresh fruit, you can add 2 pieces of turkey bacon if you like
Breakfast 3
1 almond or peanut butter sandwich (use the natural kind), 1 banana, it's good if you can drink a small glass of milk but if not just stick with your water
Breakfast 4
2 oz of fish (it's not really expensive if you buy a fresh fish at a good price and then divide it into 2-3 oz servings b/c 1 pound of fish can give you 8 meals), 1/2 cup brown rice, http://www.yummly.com/recipe/Stir_fried-Sesame-Bok-Choy-Recipezaar, fresh fruit, personally I drink green tea here
Breakfast 5
2 open-faced veggie sandwiches on whole grain bread or wasa crackers, I add a thin slice of cheese (use a cheese carver it gets them really thin), fruit
Breakfast 6
Muesli and kefir (it tastes similar to plain yogurt it's excellent for digestion but it does take getting used too my husband loves it but I am not too fond of it personally) alternately you can have a healthy cereal with reduced fat cow's milk or fortified soy or rice milk depending on the cereal I might add fresh fruit I like nectarines with my bran flakes
Breakfast 7 (this tastes like a bit like a really nice chunky applesauce)
- Raw Food Breakfast -
"Oatmeal"

Serves 2
2 apples
1 banana
1 tablespoon golden flax seed
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Pure water
Directions

Put the flax seeds in the purified water and let sit overnight.

Peel the apples and cut them in smaller parts (for the blender). Peel the banana and break in parts. Rinse the flax seeds.

Put all ingredients in a blender. Add 1/4 cup water, just enough to let the mixture blend well. Blend all ingredients until smooth. You may want to add a little more water if it's too thick (I don't).
Tip
Can add nuts and/or raisins

Lunch 1
Salad (2-3 oz grilled chicken, cabbage shredded, apples (diced and peeled), yellow bell peppers julienned, diced red onion (small amount), caramelized cashews, avocado, cottage cheese (instead of dressing I detest cottage cheese but on this salad superb)
Lunch 2
Hummus and raw veg stuffed in a whole wheat pita, fruit salad
Lunch 3
tuna (just canned or pouched in water), bulghur (cooked in a vegetable broth), cucumber, tomato, avocado, bell peppers, mixed together you can add a small drizzle of olive oil
Lunch 4
http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/12753/asian-prawn-and-pineapple-salad
Lunch 5
Chilli with rice (I add veggie crumbles for B-vitamins and so it's ultra low fat but you can use lean ground beef or turkey crumbles try to avoid full fat ground beef)
Lunch 6
http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/333614/red-lentil-chickpea-and-chilli-soup
I like to have with hearty healthy bread. If you can't bring yourself to try lentils which are excellent for your health have some Minestrone Soup
Lunch 7
Black Bean Burritos alternatively if you are more of a meat eater
Apple Pork Wraps

Fresh sage
Handful of pork
Olive oil
A few leaves of romaine lettuce
Whole-wheat wrap
About 2" of cucumber, sliced thinly
1/2 an apple, sliced thinly
Salt and pepper

Chop the sage finely. Mix the pork and fresh sage with 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of olive oil. Lay one or two leaves of romaine lettuce on the whole-wheat wrap. Spread the pork evenly over the lettuce. Cover this with thinly sliced cucumber and apple. Add salt and pepper to taste. Wrap and eat.
=
Dinner 1
http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1031/thaistyle-steamed-fish 1/2 cup brown rice
Dinner 2
http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/10388/thai-chicken-and-mushroom-broth (I would have with 1/2 cup of brown rice)
Dinner 3
Chicken Fajitas (I personally make my own wraps b/c I can't stand the taste of store bought ones)
Dinner 4
http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/681659/watermelon-prawn-and-avocado-salad
Dinner 5
http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/12142/tofu-greens-and-cashew-stirfry
Dinner 6
Thai-style Turkey Burgers look these up on that BBC Food Site you can have baked fries or some crispy raw veggies on the side
Dinner 7
Shish Kebobs lots of grilled veggies and a protein (hallomi cheese, chicken, shrimp, beef, lamb whatever) you can have with some brown rice

Don't forget healthy snacks: plain nuts and seeds, oatmeal, yoghurt, raw veg (with hummus), fresh fruit, fruit and veggies smoothies great for breakfast but I know you only drink water so maybe you won't like, slice of healthy bread w/nut butter

Not necessarily in this order I just put them down as they occurred you can also swap dinners and lunches. I tried to make dinner lighter b/c it's ideal

What is your favorite recipe for a healthy Toddler Snack?
Q. We need more ideas. Our favorite to date is Sweet Potato Balls.

Mix Together:
insides of 2 sweet potatoes
1 beaten egg
2 tablespoons milk

Form into balls and roll in
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 teas. fresh finely minced parsely

cook by baking on greased baking sheet in pre-heated oven for 10-15 mintes or until egg is throughly cooked.

Look forward to hearing news ideas. Thanks.
